Nora Yasmine: Muslim Women* Pole Space

an open-level low flow workshop for muslim women* in this workshop, we’ll explore pole dance as an empowering movement practice, connect with other muslim pole dancers, and make space for those who are simply curious to begin. this space is about unlearning shame, exploring our sensuality, and building community. many of us were taught that our bodies are wrong, sinful or something to be ashamed of. reconnecting with our bodies through a practice shaped by the work and creativity of Black skrippas can be a deeply radical and empowering act. make sure to bring socks (and heels if you have experience and want to use them). *this space is open to women who are muslim or have a muslim upbringing, including trans and intersex women. non-binary and agender muslims are welcome if they feel aligned with the purpose of this women-centered space without men.
